Moda ecosostenibile / Eco sustainable fashion

Mi piace tenermi informata sulle marche ecosostenibili, ma molte fanno solo pezzi basic. Ogni tanto però, scopro qualche marca che fa cose molto carine e, in questo caso, anche foto simpaticissime.

I like to keep informed about eco-sustainable brands, but most of them just produce basic items. Anyway, sometimes I stumble across a brand producing very nice stuff, and in this case, amazing pictures as well.

Alabama Chanin è una marca... dell' Alabama, che usa materie biologiche o riciclate. Ogni vestito è fatto a mano e firmato dall'artigiano (non è carino?)

A questo proposito, vorrei sapere cosa pensate dei vestiti eco-sostenibili. Vi fate domande sulle condizioni di produzione dei vestiti e sulle materie usate? Siete pronti a pagare di più, con la garanzia che le persone che hanno fatto questo vestito saranno pagate decentemente? O forse credete che sia solo marketing? O che sia troppo caro? O raramente alla moda?
E soprattutto: c'è qualche marca eco-sostenibile che vi piace?

Alabama Chanin is a brand from... Alabama, that uses organic and recycled materials. Each item is handmade and signed by the artisan (isn't it cute?)

By the way, I'd like to know what you think about eco-sustainable. Do you ask yourself about clothes' production conditions and about the fabrics being used? Are you willing to pay more, being guaranteed that people who made the clothes have been correcly paid? Or you believe it's just about marketing? Or it's too expensive? Or hardly on fashion?
Above all: is there any eco-sustainable brand you like?

Protest against fog / Raccolta firme contro la nebbia

Guarda bene questa foto. Che cosa vedi? Cosa? IL FREDDO. Mamma mia, basta guardare questa foto per prendere un raffredore.

Well, look at this photo. What do you see? What? THE COLD. Oh my god, looking at this picture is enough to get a cold.

Quando vivevo sulle Alpi (e non sotto, come ora), i giorni grigi erano giorni da pane francese caldo + Nutella + coperta + gatto + un buon romanzo + fuoco nel camino. Ora che vivo sotto, i giorni grigi sono... tutti i giorni da tre mesi e non ho gatto, il camino abusivo ce l'ho sul balcone (non sono stata io a farlo), e mi consolo con la Nutella (tutti i giorni quindi).

Basta! Non può più durare! Sei contro la nebbia? Firma qui sotto! Meno nebbia, meno Nutella (e più foto di outfit).

A proposito di outfit, questo è il cappotto vintage che ho ricevuto in regalo poco prima di Natale. È stato fatto da una sarta torinese, Donna Ilene, di cui ho anche un abito che vi mostrerò quando... farà sole. Comunque, vestirsi di rosso rende il cielo meno grigio, come l'hanno fatto notare Kelley Ann e Mamushka Marie.

When I used to live on the Alps (and not below them, like nowadays), grey days meant warm French bread + Nutella + warm blanket + cat + a good novel + fire in the fireplace. Now that I live below, grey days mean... every day from three months now, and I don't even have a cat, an illegal fireplace is in the terrace (it wasn't me di build it), and so I comfort myself with Nutella (every day).

Stop this! It cannot last anymore! You are against fog? Sign here! Less fog, less Nutella (and more outfits photos).

By the way, talking about outfits, this is the vintage coat I was gifted just before Christmas. It has been made by a Turin dressmaker called Donna Ilene, of whom I have another dress I'll show you when... it will be sunny. Anyway, wearing red stuff makes the sky look less grey, like Kelley Ann and Mamushka Marie told us.

Forse non lo sapete, ma l'apparenza è un tema ricorrente da Bob-il-profeta. Negli anni 60, mentre la moda evolve sempre più in fretta, Bob Dylan si diverte ad osservare le fashion victim di cui l'aspetto cambia in continuo. Però – povero Bob - si rende ben conto che il suo statuto di star non vale molto di più di un cappello leopardato! Durerà? Non durerà? Rassicurati Bob! Ci seppelirai tutti, e oggi ancora qualche ragazza porta il cappello leopardato.

Sure enough, leopard hats were less popular this winter than the inevitable foulard, but that's why I like it: it's a personal way to interpret fashion. A girl who wears a leopard hat today is necessarely a nice girl (and a girl who listen to Bob today is, obviously, necessarely a nice girl too).

Blanket, leopard-skin, tapestry... not so sober coats

Ah! Quasi un anno fa, mi divertiva l'idea di uscire con una coperta adosso! Avevo dichiarato che avrei consacrato un post alla la prima che avrebbe osato uscire così. Mantengo la parola, e mi inchino davanti a Erin, Jessica e Tavi (questa ultima è addiritura riuscita a portare il cappotto-coperta insieme ad un parka, complimenti). Insomma, trovo queste tre ragazze davvero stilose con il loro cappotto su un outfit molto semplice.

Ah! Nearly an year ago, the idea of going out with a blanket on my back amused me! I declared that I'd consecrate a post to the first one who would dare to go out like this. I keep my word, and I bow to Erin, Jessica and Tavi (the latter managed to wear the blanket-coat together with a parka – congratulations). Well, I find these three girls to be really stylish with their coat on a very simple outfit.

I cappotti leopardati sono certo un classico in questo inverno, ma indossati insieme ad altri accessori leopardati o con dei quadretti, è rischioso ma è più allegro. Ovviamente non indosso vere pelliccie (d'altronde una vegetariana in pelliccia, sarebbe interessante, no?)

This winter, leopard-skin coats are surely a must, but if you wear them together with other leopard-skin accessories or with printed patterns, it's riskier, but merrier. Sure enough, I do not wear true furs (anyway, a vegetarian wearing furs would be interesting, isn't it?).

Il cappotto tappezzeria mi ha colpita appena l'ho visto su Jessica. Ho visto anche delle gonne del genere, e non mi dispiacerebbe averne una. In versione cappotto, è ancora più spettacolare, no?

A proposito di cappotti poco discreti, ho ricevuto in regalo un cappotto lungo vintage rosso. Appena la pianura padana esce della notte senza fine in cui è sprofondata, faccio qualche foto!

The tapestry coat struck meas soon as I saw it on Jessica. I also saw skirts of that kind, and I wouldn't regret having one of them. Still, the coat version is much more spectacular, isn't it?

Talking about not so sober coats, I have been gifted a long red vintage coat. As soon as Po river plain comes out of the endless night in which it drowned these days, I'll take some pictures!

Oh! My boy... French Elle editorial

Elle è la sola rivista francese che compro ogni tanto. Oltre alle dichiarazioni e ai neologismi assurdi che osa (la scarpa piatta è il nuovo tacco!), è una rivista terribilmente parigina, molto più a la page del suo equivalente italiano (a cui preferisco Velvet, la sola rivista italiana che compro).

Nel primo Elle Francia di quest’anno, sono finita su questo servizio, ispirato ad Annie Hall. Non è bellissimo?

Elle is the only French magazine I buy sometimes. Besides its absurd declarations and neologisms, it’s a magazine much more fashionable than its Italian equivalent.

In the first French Elle of this year, I stumbled on this editorial inspired by Annie Hall, that I believe to be really well done.

Ecco perché mi piace avere un blog. Quando leggo cose del genere, buffe, tenere, scritte con il solo scopo di divertirsi, mi sento leggera leggera e mi prendo bene per tutta la giornata.

Grazie al mio blog, ho:

- Migliorato il mio italiano allo scritto (in origine, scrivere ogni giorno in italiano era lo scopo di questo blog).

- Passato ore a bloggare invece di fare sport. Male!

- Incontrato un sacco di gente, anche in carne e ossa: delle Parigine bevitrici di mojito proprio divertenti, Kamel di cui ho parlato ieri e a chi devo la stupenda foto che illustra questo post (che bello! Una foto fatta da lui!), delle blogger-di-moda-famose-oddio-mio, le adorabili Tuzi e Virginia, e spero bene di incontrare un sacco di altre ragazze.

- Dato spesso delle notizie alla mia famiglia (mamma, so che vai sul mio blog ogni giorno per verificare che sono viva!)

Insomma, l’armadio mi fa prendere bene, e spero che fa prendere bene anche chi mi legge. E ora che ho la speranza di diventare la santa patrona dei blogger, mi dico che il gioco ne vale proprio la candela.

That's why I love writing a blog. When I read things of this kind, funny, sweet, written with the only aim of amusing, I feel so light and I'm alright for the rest of the day.

Today L'armadio del delitto is one year old. Greetings, little Armadio!

Thanks to my blog:

- I improved my Italian (in the beginning, the aim of this blog was to write in Italian).

- I spent hours blogging instead of practising some sports. That’s bad!

- I met a lot of people, even in flesh and bones: I met 8 Parisian mojito drinkers (salut les filles!), Kamel of whom I talked yesterday and to whom I owe the beautiful pictures of this post (how cool, a picture taken by him!), some oh-my-god-famous-fashion-bloggers, I met the lovely Tuzi and Virginia, and I hope to meet a lot of other girls.

- I often gave information to my family (hey mama, I know you visit my blog each day to see if I’m still alive!)

In short, “l’armadio” makes me feel alright and I hope it makes readers feel alright too. And now that I have the hope to become the patron saint of all bloggers, I say yo myself it’s worth it!

Non so che strana bevanda Kamel abbia ordinato allo Starbucks Coffee, ma ho preso lo stesso ed era molto buono. Dopo abbiamo chiacchierato di street style, poi di cucina italiana e di tutto e di più, conversazione interrotta solo dall’apparizione di una ragazza tutta vestita di rosso che Kamel ha immediatamente fotografato (cosa che non sembra avere stupito la signorina).

I don’t know what strange beverage Kamel ordered at Starbucks, but I had the same and it was delicious. Then we talked about street style, then about Italian cuisine and everything else, and our conversation was interrupted only by an all dressed in red girl apparition, who Kamel suddenly photographed (this did not seem to be strange to the red girl).

Perché essere stato colpito da questa ragazza (stupenda) e non da un’altra? gli ho chiesto. Siamo nel Marais e tutti quanti sono così belli e perfetti!

Why being struck by that girl (beautiful) and not by another one? I asked him. We are in Marais and everyone looks so beautiful and perfect!

Appunto ha risposto Kamel. Ciò che mi seduce, non sono la perfezione, le it bag, la moda del momento. Ciò che mi colpisce davvero, è una particolarità, un’attitudine, un’espressione, insomma, tutto questo insieme. Non sono alla ricerca della foto della donna perfetta come le riviste femminili lo intendono, in possesso dell’ultima it bag o must have, non fotografo degli attaccapanni ma degli essere umani. Il mio filtro è quello della generosità che sento da una persona e di cui so che giocherà il gioco, ciò che permetterà di regalarle delle belle foto. Per me, il segreto della bellezza non è nell’oggetto, ma nella felicità, perché lo stile è solo il vestito della personalità.

Insomma, per Kamel, non esiste che si accontenti di immortalare un look e basta. Ciò che fa il fascino di un vestito, è la personalità di quella che lo indossa. È per questo che ha deciso di umanizzare la moda con uno street style centrato su degli individui e non solo sulla loro mise.

In short Kamel is not satisfied by immortalizing just a look. What gives charm to a dress, is the personality of the one who wears it. That’s why he decides to humanize fashion with a focused-on-individuals street style.

Non so voi, ma le persone così mi rassicurano. Una tale benevolenza non è superflua nel mondo della moda, e rende le foto ancora più belle!

I don’t know about you, but people like that reassure me. Such a benevolence is not superfluous in fashion’s world, and gives photos more beauty!

New skirt

È un mese che crollo sotto i regali. Ecco cos'è essere nata appena dopo Natale (a proposito, grazie a tutti quanti per gli auguri domenica!). È anche un mese che crollo sotto i tronchetti e le galettes des rois, ma questo è un'altra storia.

Aspettando di mostrarvi tutte queste meraviglie, ecco l'ultima arrivata, una gonna Westrags (un negozio online poco caro) (che ha anche un blog carino) che ho messo con una semplice giacca (una Zara vecchia di 11 anni) perché fa ormai una temperatura sopra zero - in pieno sole alle due, ma è un buon inizio.

It's a month I'm overwhelmed by presents. That's what being born just after Christmas brings (by the way, thanks to all of you for Sunday's greetings! ). It's a month I'm ovewhelmed by chocolate cakes and galettes des rois too, but that's another story.

Waiting to show you all these marvels, here you are the last one I've gotten: a Westrags skirt (a firm selling online, which is not too expensive) (that has a nice blog) I wore just with a jacket (an eleven years old Zara one) because it's over zero degrees by now - right under the sun at two o'clock, but that's a beginning.

Nonostante le gonne di questo genere abbiano molto successo quest'anno, ne ho solo due. È stupido, ma ho fatto fatica a trovarne. Gonne carine, ma dove siete? Perché tutte le ragazze ne hanno, mente i negozi no (la stessa domanda vale per i collant a pois, le oxford da donne e i maglioni in vera lana).

Despite these kind of skirts are very popular this year, I've just got two of them. It's weird, but it has been hard to find them. Nice skirts, where are you? Why all the girls have them, but the shops don't? (the same question concerns polka dots tights, women oxford shoes and true wool sweaters)
